ANGKLA Party-List: Maritime Sector Representative in Congress

(June 5, 2013)

To everyone who supported ANGKLA Party-List, THANK YOU.

We are encouraged by your trust, confidence and support and are now prepared to help enhance a common voice and a shared vision for our maritime industry.

ANGKLA is proud to represent an industry that has contributed significantly to the Philippine economy, which in 2012 alone accounted for over US$4.8 billion (BSP) worth of remittances to our country.

It is, therefore, a distinct honor and privilege for ANGKLA to finally serve as the voice of the maritime industry in the 16th Congress. This opportunity could not have come at a better time. Now more than ever, this industry needs to further champion its cause and safeguard its future.

ANGKLA will work hard to develop new avenues of growth for our maritime professionals while preserving and protecting the benefits of the more than 800,000 active Filipino seafarers (MARINA), whose careers directly impact the lives of over 4 million Filipinos.

ANGKLA will also work closely with various stakeholders to ensure that the country continues to abide by its responsibilities in an industry governed by global standards. In so doing, ANGKLA’s efforts will ensure that the Philippines will remain the country of choice for global maritime professionals.

This July, ANGKLA will initiate legislative programs that will not only advance the maritime industry as a key player in nation-building, but will further position it as a priority of the government. ANGKLA will file as its first bill in Congress, the institutionalization of a single and central maritime administration, whose responsibilities are aligned with global standards fake rolex watches of governance for the maritime industry.

ANGKLA will also immediately promote the development of maritime high schools nationwide to serve as the future source of our Filipino global maritime professionals.

It is our hope that with your continuing support, our dream for the Philippines to become the maritime capital of the world will one day be realized.

Atty. Jess Manalo
ANGKLA Chairman
and Representative in Congress
